We are expanding our software and data engineering team under the Computational Discovery unit and seeking a DevOps Engineer to drive hands-on development of our AWS cloud infrastructure.

The DevOps Engineer will lead the ongoing cloud migration and provide support, maintenance, data security best practice, compute, and storage optimization to enable a successful cloud operation by the Computational Discovery team.

– Lead cloud migration of remaining on-premise systems
– Provide Cloud Support and cost optimization for storage and compute
– Training the Computational Discovery Team on Cloud utilization and best practice
– Develop workflow and pipeline automation
– Apply best practice in Data Security
– Support software engineers on AWS aspects of proprietary analytics platform development
– Collaborate with third party vendors of cloud-based software and professional services

Required qualifications:

– 3+ years hands-on Cloud DevOps industry experience – AWS Preferred
– B.Sc. or equivalent hands-on years of experience in Computer Science/Engineering
– Extensive experience in AWS services (or parallel) such as EC2, IAM, VPC, ELB, Autoscaling, Lambda, Batch, RDS, API-gateway and others
– Best practices in version control (Github), data-security and documentation
– Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) & Docker deployment
– Configuration and management of databases and analytics engines such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, RedShift, Apache Spark and AWS SageMaker
– Software development experience in any/most of the following skills: Python, Bash and R
– Understanding of networking concepts (e.g. subnetting, VPC)
– Basic system administration skills in Linux
– Experience with Data-lake architecture – an advantage
– Experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry – an advantage
– AWS Certified- an advantage
– Problem-solving and innovation attitude
– Ability to propose, scope and carry out the work independently
– Strong collaborative skills, professionalism and long term commitment
– A team player in a multidisciplinary environment
